Carmen Valle studied Spanish Language and Literature, and is now a teacher, and translator of multiple works including Gloria Anzaldúa’s book Borderlands/La frontera: the New Mestiza. Her areas of interest include: the working conditions of translators, commercial translation versus activist translation, and unorthodox approaches to translating.

Carmen was a presenter in the "Translation as activism/praxis/multimediality:Implications for Research and Art" roundtable during the Global Spains Workshop in Conviviality and Acompaniment Praxis.
