Kris Liu is a faculty member of the School of English Education at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China. He was a Visiting Researcher and Research Associate with the UCSB Global Latinidades Project in the Winter and Spring of 2019. Utilizing UCSB archives he researched curandero/as in Chicanx literatures as part of a broader study on folk healing and folk healers mapping their broader societal function in comparative Chicanx and Chinese contexts:
