Willie Wasson is a rising junior English major at Morehouse College. He has a unique background, He is the son of an Afro-Mexican birth father and an Indigenous birth mother. He has never met his birth parents and was raised by his adopted parents in Fort Worth, Texas.

After High School, he spent ten years working in the local film industry before he became a non-traditional college student and began taking classes at Tarrant County College. The classes he took had a profound impact on his life as well as the professors who mentored him and encouraged his academic path.

He soon decided that he wanted to have both a career as a novelist and a professor. He chose to attend the prestigious Morehouse College where he has flourished in the English department. After he graduates he plans to continue my education and obtain a PhD in literature. My focus will be teaching courses in creative writing, Afrofuturism, and the intersection of race and gender in media.
