Colin Royal, from Richmond, V.A., is a first year undergraduate student majoring in English at Morehouse College. Concentrating on writing, he hopes to pick up both journalism and finance minors. For leisure, he loves to read literature, write his own works, and watch various films—almost any form of media or art is fair game. 

He sought out the opportunity to work with the AfroLatinades Institute for two main reasons. First, the internship provides him with the chance to explore and learn within an environment that is unique and new to me. Secondly, he feels that the material which is researched relates similarly to his own experiences. Colin has a strong interest in both the humanities and the various historical effects of the African diaspora, which the institute allows him to engage.
