As a former research assistant for the Global Latinidades Project, Lauren worked on a grant writing team for an Afro-Latinx Studies Institute that was funded for $493,000 and a Global Latinidades Multicampus Research Programs and Initiatives (MRPI) grant that was funded for $2.1 million in partnership with five University of California campuses. This assistantship provided her with a greater understanding of grant researching and writing.

Currently, Lauren is based in San Francisco where she works as a special education teacher. Having recently moved here, she is looking forward to exploring the city’s radical niches and getting more involved with mutual aid organizing.
