Emily Sun is a Chinese North American artist and educator who currently lives in Madrid. Her investigations explore networks and diasporic memories of sonorous language and collaborative processes. Licensed in Ethnic Studies at the University of Brown, currently she is studying her masters in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture, organized by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Reina Sofía Museum. She has worked and developed cultural programs with La Parcería, Liwai Intercultural Action, the Espai Avinyó, and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, among others. Since 2023, she and artist Xirou Xiao has facilitated the project Savia 天马行空 Tiān Mǎ Xíng Kōng, a program of mediation for Chinese families in the Reina Sofía Museum. Recipient of the scholarship Se busca comisaría 2024, she has co-commissioned the exposition "Te prensé entre las hojas," in the Hall of Young Art alongside Benia Nsi.
